Making History: 20 Service Projects for New Life's Anniversary

We're approaching a wonderful milestone - our 20-year anniversary in 2025! Rather than simply looking back, we're celebrating this special occasion by rolling up our sleeves and giving back. Our church family will organize 20 different service projects throughout the year that show our love for our neighbors and commitment to living out our faith.

The Vision Behind 20 Service Projects

Every celebration tells a story, but we wanted our 20th anniversary to share something truly special - a story of faith in action and hearts of gratitude. For our church family at New Life, this milestone year called for more than just cake and congratulations. We needed something that would reflect what we truly believe - that our faith shines brightest when we serve others.

"20 Serve Opportunities to Mark 20 Years of Ministry" became the heartbeat of our celebration. This anniversary celebration isn't about patting ourselves on the back for past accomplishments. Instead, we're saying "thank you" to our community by extending our hands and hearts to those around us. We've already completed several wonderful initiatives, including our Easter Services Outreach and the Wildwood Police Appreciation Memorial Day event. What a joy it's been to see these projects come to life!

Looking ahead, we're excited about the Tunnel to Towers Golf Tournament in June, supporting our military and first responders, followed by the uplifting Liberty Voices Concert on July 4.

As the year continues, we'll add more opportunities to serve together. We're planning neighborhood cleanups to beautify the spaces we share, school supply drives to help families prepare for academic success, a community blood drive offering the precious gift of life, and so much more.

What makes this vision so special is that it welcomes everyone to participate. Each project offers different ways to serve based on your time, talents, and passion. Remember what Scripture tells us: "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." - 1 Peter 4:10

Anniversary Day, October 12

The highlight of our anniversary year will be a special celebration on October 12, 2025—our official anniversary date. We're planning a community concert and gathering that will unite everyone who has served alongside us throughout the church's life. This event will celebrate God's faithfulness across two decades while launching us into our next chapter of ministry.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" - Jeremiah 29:11. This promise has guided us through twenty years, and continues to light our path forward as we serve our neighbors with joy.

How to Participate

We invite you to pray about how God might use your idea to bless others. Then, prepare a brief description of your proposed service project, including potential dates and what resources might be needed. You can submit your idea through our welcome center, website contact form, or directly to any staff member.

Several of our anniversary service projects—including neighborhood cleanups, school supply drives, and holiday giving initiatives—came from wonderful people just like you. Your suggestion might become a highlight of our 20-year celebration!

All service opportunities will be announced at our welcome center after Sunday services, on our church website, and in our weekly newsletter. We're building toward our special anniversary celebration on October 12, 2025, with a concert and community gathering that will bring together everyone who has participated in our year of outreach.

Our Welcome Center is your friendly first stop for all service project details. After both Sunday worship services (9:00 am and 10:30 am), our wonderful volunteers are ready to help with sign-up sheets and answers to any questions you might have. You'll find colorful calendars showing each project's date, time commitment, and specific needs.
