Sunday, I was present for the rehearsal for our morning worship and knew right off it was going to be special. Connie was still at home, so I sent her a text that said, “Oh, my goodness, what a worship service this is going to be!” I wasn’t wrong. The music on Sunday was amazing. We had the choir and a slightly larger orchestra than normal leading us, and it was great. The choir sang two songs, “The House of the Lord,” which was a perfect song to begin each service, and “Believe For It,” a song they have done before, but I’m pretty sure they have never done it better. In between the two choir specials, the orchestra presented an arrangement of “Way Maker”. To close our service, John Robertson and Lisa Donohue sang a duet, “More Than Wonderful.” That is a song that Sandi Patty and Larnelle Harris recorded back in 1983. It was one of my favorites then, and it still is today. John and Lisa did a terrific job. Thanks to all of our “music people” who made Sunday’s worship so special.
Sunday began our “5 Days of Prayer”.

Bob kicked it off with a message using the Lord’s Prayer from Matthew 6:9-13 as his text, pointing out six different aspects of the prayer and how they applied to our prayer lives. It was instructive and beneficial. By the way, I am writing this on Tuesday morning, so we have actually had two mornings of prayer. Monday, the focus was on praying for Missions, and Tuesday, our focus was on praying for the Church. Participation has been good: 61 on Monday and 62 this morning.
We are only 5 days away from the Gordon Mote concert, this Saturday (September 13) at 6:30 pm. Tickets are still available. The cost is $20.00. I hope you will join us.

This past Friday, David and Claudia Wheeler left the US with a group from Rapha International, headed to Cambodia. They arrived safely
and will be working at Rapha facilities for a couple of weeks. I think they will return home about the middle of the month. Please keep them and Rapha International in your prayers.
